You are trying to improve your internet speed at home? buying a good router might not actually be the best solutions.
My advice to you for you to laid LAN cables throughout your house, that will give you the best speed. for those staying in newer HDBs, you might consider converting your telephone points to LAN points(there are companies who will convert them with a small fee).
Otherwise, you might want to use Powerline, or even MOCA to transmit data via electrical wirings or cables.
If you are looking for access points to extend your wireless, don't buy a router, go and buy an access point! it is cheaper. If you can choose only one frequency for your access point, choosing 2.4ghz will give your distance (but not speed), 5ghz will give you speed (but not distance).

Update your maps for your in-car GPS Garmin devices
Do you have a Garmin Car GPS lying somewhere in your storeroom? Is it left there because of outdated map?
If you can update the map? will you? If Yes, you can read up and update the map yourself.
And if you are planning a driving trip overseas, you can consider loading an overseas map in your GPS device and bring it over (rental of GPS is quite expensive overseas, so you can consider this cheaper options).
Anyway, below are the 3 internet links that would have enough resources to enable you to update the maps yourself.
